Although Venice is a small island, it is very well connected to the mainland and the rest of the world thanks to its important tourism industry. The nearest airport is the Marco Polo Airport. To reach Venice from the airport, you can take a bus or a taxi to Piazzale Roma. Another way of getting to the “Serenissima” is by train. Venice’s central train station, Venezia Santa Lucia railway station, connects the city with numerous countries and other Italian towns. 

You can walk to your hotel or splurge on a water taxi that will take you from the airport directly to your hotel. Well, this is going to be not your standard taxi for sure. You will be elegantly carried through the lagoon and down the Grand Canal in an amazingly restored wood speedboat. Believe us if you will literally feel like you’ve stepped into a James Bond movie - we're talking about real cinematic vibes here!

Making it a Sunday morning and it's even better as there are no delivery boats around! Did you know that? The second best moment would be during sunset when it starts to get quiet again. Consider also that Venice by dawn and night, when all the lights are on, is a very special yet romantic time to be out and take amazing shots!

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO ELOPE IN VENICE

The hot and busy summer months of July and August might be the times to avoid. As well as Carnival season in February (usually lasts for two weeks). It doesn't get any more packed than during this time - and Italian Easter Holidays! Best time to elope in Venice? The fall months of September and October (though can see rainy days) as well as the spring months of late March and April - with cooler temperatures and the occasional rain shower. You can also consider May (almost summer in Venice) and early June for a mild weather!
